In Unit 4, the ideas of faith and religious expression were explored from multiple perspectives. It is a common theme in the Humanities to be driven to find a path to divine truth which are expressed in what are considered organized religions. In this assignment, you will share a spiritual journey that leads to or participates in one of the major or minor religions presented in Unit 4. It can be your own spiritual journey, a friend or family member, or even a favorite character in a film or book, but it must narrate a spiritual journey from unbelief to belief in a specific religion or religious system.
Think of this artifact as a symbol of the power of spiritual belief within your own life. How does your faith impact those around you? Does the moral tenets making up your religious system help you to be a model employee, a trusted friend, a helpful partner?
Organization:
Present:
a spiritual journey in narrative form. Remember, this artifact represents the power of spiritual belief and the reason we celebrate all religions in the Humanities. It is about the journey. How did you or the person whose journey you are sharing get from Point A of unbelief to Point B of belief? Was it another person’s testimony, sacred scripture, a spiritual awakening experience, etc., that led to belief? That is the journey to present in your artifact (2 or more well-developed paragraphs).
Analyze:
the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ this religion impacts yourself and others. Do the moral tenets of the religious system help you or others to be model employees or more trusted friends, or helpful to family and loved ones? What does submission to the Divine bring to the soul (peace, assurance, comfort, etc.) (1 or more well-developed paragraphs)?
Reflect:
on what religion means to you now that you have completed Unit 4 and learned about other types of religions. Think about how having a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences the religions share strengthens your own beliefs. (1 or more well-developed paragraphs)
Format
For this assignment, you can use either MS Word or create a Powtoon or YouTube video. Note that your MS word document must include several images or pictures that illustrate your written statements in the same way you will use images in your Powtoon or YouTube video presentations.
Please see the tutorials available here for help creating the video.
If you use source material, please be sure it is academically credible and that you validate any sources used by creating in-text citations and references in APA format.
Facilitating Conflict Resolution
/0 Comments/in /byEach person has their own style of managing conflict. When collaborative or team-based work is involved, conflict styles may clash, resulting in a tense or unproductive environment.
For this assignment, you will be challenged to facilitate an effective, collaborative work environment, even with employees who have very different approaches to conflict.

/0 Comments/in /byOrganization:
Present:
a hero’s journey in narrative form. Include each component:
Call to adventure:
Where is the hero going and why are they going there? (1 well-developed paragraph)
Challenges and temptations
How does the hero overcome these? Are the gods called upon, is a technology used, or does the hero have superpowers? Remember in the hero’s journey, you can be super creative. (these occur throughout the story. Avoid putting them all into one paragraph)

Transformation
In what ways does the hero change or transform? (1 well-developed paragraph)
Atonement
How does the hero confront the story’s revelation? (1 well-developed paragraph)
Return
How is the hero victorious? (1 well-developed paragraph)
Analyze:
the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ the hero captures our hearts and imaginations. Think about why we want and need heroes and hero figures. Do we expect those we do make into heroes (celebrities, sports figures, etc.) to be superhuman and exempt from the types of challenges and temptations we face?
Reflect:
on how you might develop this into a longer story and the ways your hero’s journey can impact or inspire the lives of others. (1 or more well-developed paragraphs)
Estimated time to complete: 4-5 hours
A reminder not to use source material in this assignment. Narrate your hero’s journey in your own words only.

Unit 4 Assignment – ADR: Patient and Provider Satisfaction
/0 Comments/in /byAs explained in Unit 3, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is commonly used in healthcare settings. For this assignment, you will conduct research to determine if ADR is the preferred method for patient and provider satisfaction, and why or why not. To help inform your research, you may use the following questions to narrow scholarly article search results:
While this assignment focuses on ADR, the elements of understanding conflict styles are essential to the success and implementation of ADR. Reflect on how the TKI, PIN model, and Transactional analysis could influence the ADR process. You do not need to address this in your essay, however it may be useful as supplemental research.
Format: Essay
Length: 2-3 pages
APA requirements: Title and reference pages, in-text citations, three scholarly sources.
Unit 3 Assessment – Your Creation Myth
/0 Comments/in /byYour creation myth can be an adaptation of those you reviewed in Unit 3 or an entirely new approach. It can include a flood or any other component of climate. Your myth can present gods, goddesses, demigods, or any other type of mythic creature (fairies, elves, fauns, centaurs, etc.), or it can express a spiritual entity that reigns supreme on its own. The key to this exploration is for you to experience the drive and wonder found in the Humanities, even today, to explain how we came to be.
Organization:
Present: your myth in story form. (2 or more well-developed paragraphs)
Analyze: the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ the world and its people were created and came to be. Think about why others should adopt your myth. (one or more well-developed paragraphs)
Reflect: On the creation of your second artifact for the Humanities. Explore how having a solid understanding of myth enhances your ability to experience art, literature, music, and most anything else at a deeper level. (one or more well-developed paragraphs).
Format
For this assignment, you have several options. If you would like to use Powerpoint or Prezi to include images or pictures, aim for a title slide that includes your name, title of your myth, and the date, as many body slides as needed to present the myth narrative, a slide for the analysis, and a slide for the reflection. There should not be a reference slide for this type of artifact.
You can also use MS Word for a textual presentation by aiming for well-developed paragraphs of 5 – 8 sentences. Note that your MS word document must include several images or pictures that illustrate your written statements.
